Tips for submitting your resume
- Proofreading : Always proofread your resume for mistakes and give it to someone else to comment on. Mistakes in your resume often result in you being turned down for the job you wanted. If you need help, Morgan Recruiting can proofread your resume free of charge.
- Submitting a photo: You must submit a photo with your resume. We frequently are asked why a photo is necessary. To put it simply, it is part of the process of submitting your resume in Korea and resumes will not be accepted if they are not accompanied by a photo. All resumes in Korea, including those of Koreans, must include a photo. When submitting your photo, do NOT use recreational style photos as this may indicate that you are not serious about the job. Choose a professional looking photograph, preferably one that is just a head and shoulders shot.
- Details: You also need to include important background details on your online application as well as your resume. This includes your citizenship, languages spoken and your mother tongue and your date of birth. This information is important as under Korean law only specific countries are eligible to apply for the E-2 teaching visa. Also be sure to include all of your contact information on your resume and be sure to include the country code and area code in your telephone number.
- Proper formatting and style: Many potentially great resumes have been ruined by the applicant not using proper formatting or style. Don’t try to get too cute with the fonts that you use, as this can look childish. On the other hand, do not use the same font throughout the entire resume as this does not effectively highlight your key achievements. Try to keep your resume relatively short and remember that you do not need to include every job you have ever done. Be sure to include any experience you have related to teaching or children, and volunteer work always looks good on a resume. Again, if you need help with your resume Morgan Recruiting is always prepared to offer its extensive experience to proofread your resume.
